Wearing Jewelry

Regardless of price and for most of materials jewelry that looks delicate is delicate, treat it like fine silk.

Sterling Silver is a metal that tarnishes very easily. It is a natural characteristic of the metal no matter what store it comes from. If you leave your sterling silver jewelry untouched and unused for a long time, it will have a higher probability to tarnish. The more you use it, the less it will tarnish.

Please do not wear your jewelry when doing chores like gardening, washing dishes, sport, … Avoid extreme temperatures and exposure to harsh chemicals such as chlorine, bleach or cleaning products, as these will also damage your jewelry.

Make your jewelry the last thing you put on in the morning, and the first thing you take off at night.

Cleaning Jewelry

Sterling silver is a precious metal and may tarnish naturally over time.

To keep your jewelry looking its best, periodically clean it in a mild soapy water mixture and a SOFT toothbrush. Rinse thoroughly with water and dry completely with a soft cloth.

Clean your jewelry with silver polishing cloth or mild soapy water to maintain its natural color and shine. Give especially plated jewelry a proper care to prolong its life as it has a certain lifespan itself.

Silk cord should be checked annually for wear and will need to be re-strung from time to time.

To clean silver jewelry that has a matte finish we recommend a silver dip or foam.

Oxidized or blackened silver has been given a surface treatment, which should not be cleaned with a silver dip, as this will remove the treatment. The blackening will naturally wear away over time, which is part of the piece’s life

Storing Jewelry

Store your jewelry in a cool, dry place. The bag provided will slow tarnishing and prevent scratching by other pieces in your jewelry box.

It’s important to store your jewelry with care, ideally in the original box in which it came. Keep it separate from other jewelry, as one item may scratch another. Store your jewelry separately in a box, a pouch or a zip log bag to avoid oxidation and it being scratched.
